How to Fix Curls That Look Stringy After Mousse
Curls look stringy after mousse when product is uneven, hair is too wet, or clumps are separated too much. Re-clump the curls and use lighter hold.

The fix
- mist stringy sections until they are damp
- smooth a pea-size amount of curl cream over those pieces
- scrunch upward to rebuild larger curl clumps
- use mousse only at the roots or over the outer layer next time
Prevent it next time
- Apply mousse to soaking-wet hair if your curls need clumps.
- Avoid combing after hold product is in.
Notes
Why this works
Curls look fuller when strands dry in organized groups. Re-wetting gives you a second chance to form those groups.
