How to Fix a Beard That Looks Shiny and Oily
A beard looks shiny and oily when too much balm or oil coats the hair. Blot excess product and use smaller amounts focused on dry areas.

The fix
- blot the beard with a dry towel
- comb through to spread product evenly
- wash with beard wash if it still looks slick
- restart with one or two drops of oil only
Prevent it next time
- Apply oil to damp beard hair after washing.
- Use balm for shape, not as a heavy conditioner.
Notes
Why this works
Removing excess product brings back texture. Combing prevents one shiny patch from making the whole beard look greasy.
