Mature Skin Powder Settles in Lines
Powder settles in lines on mature skin when too much product is pressed over movement or dryness. Strategic setting keeps makeup smooth without heaviness.

The fix
- mist the face lightly and wait 20 seconds if makeup already looks dry
- press a tissue over areas that crease to lift excess foundation
- load a small brush with powder, then tap off almost all of it
- set only the sides of the nose, under-eye crease line, and shiny spots
- press once with a damp sponge to melt powder into the base
If it’s still not right
- Skip powder on the driest areas and use blotting paper only where shine appears.
- Switch to a lighter base if foundation is settling before powder is applied.
Prevent it next time
- Let moisturizer absorb for 5 minutes before makeup.
- Powder strategically instead of setting the entire face by habit.
Notes
Why this works
Powder does not only remove shine; it also adds texture. When too much sits over foundation, it can collect in the same lines that move when you smile, blink, or talk.
Lifting extra base first prevents a thick stack of products. A small amount of powder placed only where needed keeps the finish controlled while leaving flexible areas softer.
