Balayage Turned Orange
Balayage turns orange when the hair lifts to a warm level and does not have enough cool tone over it. Blue-toned care can soften orange until a toner appointment.

The fix
- wash once with blue shampoo, focusing on the orange mid-lengths
- leave it on only as long as the bottle recommends
- condition well and check the tone in natural light after drying
If it’s still not right
- Use a demi toner appointment if the orange is strong after one wash.
- Avoid repeated blue shampoo if the hair starts looking flat or muddy.
Prevent it next time
- Ask for a toner plan before leaving the salon.
- Use heat protectant so warm pieces do not fade faster.

Why this works
Orange and blue sit opposite each other, so a blue wash can visually mute warmth. It is a surface correction, which makes it useful for maintenance but limited for major color issues.
