How to Fix Eyeliner That Smudges in the Waterline
Waterline eyeliner smudges when moisture and oil break down the pencil. Dry the line first, use a waterproof formula, and set the outer edge.

The fix
- dry the waterline gently with a clean cotton swab
- apply waterproof liner in short strokes
- keep liner away from the inner corner if your eyes water
- press matching shadow just below the lash line
Prevent it next time
- Replace very soft pencils that never set.
- Avoid heavy eye cream near the lower lash line.
