Gel Polish Chips at the Free Edge
Gel polish chips at the free edge when the nail tip is not sealed or the edge is too thin. Cap the tip and keep coats thin so the edge cures cleanly.

The fix
- cleanse the nail edge so oil and dust are gone
- apply thin gel coats and sweep a tiny amount across the free edge
- cap the edge again with top coat before curing
If it’s still not right
- Shorten nails slightly if the edge keeps flexing.
- Avoid flooding the underside with thick gel.

- Cap every layer lightly.
- Keep gel coats thin enough to cure fully.

Why this works
Capping wraps the coating around the part of the nail that takes the most wear. Thin coats matter because bulky gel at the edge can cure unevenly and chip faster.
