How to Fix Base Coat That Peels Off
Base coat peels off when the nail plate is oily, wet, or coated with residue. Clean prep and thin coats help polish grip.

The fix
- remove hand cream and oil from the nail plate
- swipe each nail with polish remover before base coat
- buff shiny ridges only if the nail is not thin
- apply one thin base coat and let it dry
Prevent it next time
- Do not soak nails right before polishing.
- Apply cuticle oil after polish dries, not before.
Notes
Why this works
Better prep creates better adhesion. A thin base coat bends with the nail instead of peeling away.
