Clear Brow Gel Clumps

Clear brow gel clumps when too much gel sits on the hair or mixes with brow pencil. Brush out the excess and reset with thinner layers.

The fix

Save
  1. wipe the gel wand on tissue until the brush looks lightly coated
  2. brush brows backward once, then upward to spread the gel evenly
  3. lift any visible clumps with a dry cotton swab

If it’s still not right

  • Let the gel dry, then brush lightly with a clean spoolie to soften the finish.
  • Use less pencil under gel if the two products keep collecting together.

Prevent it next time

  • Apply brow color first and let it set before gel.
  • Use one thin coat instead of layering wet gel.

Notes

Why this works

Brow gel clumps for the same reason mascara clumps: too much wet product gathers on small hairs. Brushing in two directions spreads the film before it locks.

Removing the extra gel also keeps brows from looking laminated in a hard, crunchy way.
