Eyeshadow Creases on Lids
Eyeshadow creases when oil or unset base collects in the lid fold. Remove slip, prime thinly, and set the crease before adding color.
Part of makeup beauty fixes and oily beauty fixes .

What you'll need
- tissue
- eyeshadow primer
- translucent powder
- powder eyeshadow
Why it happened
The eyelid crease is a moving fold, so any wet or oily product naturally gathers there. Primer creates a thin gripping layer, but too much primer can crease too. Powdering only the fold removes slip where the shadow usually breaks down while keeping the lid from looking dry.
The fix
- 1blot bare lids with tissue to remove skincare and oil
- 2apply a rice-grain amount of eyeshadow primer and blend it from lash line to crease
- 3dust a whisper-thin layer of translucent powder through the crease
- 4apply powder shadow in thin layers, keeping cream products below the fold
If it's still wrong
- Use a waterproof cream shadow as a base if powder shadow still vanishes.
- Avoid eye cream on the mobile lid before makeup.
Prevent next time
- Keep sunscreen and moisturizer below the orbital bone unless the formula is eye-safe and fully set.
- Choose satin or matte shadows over glossy creams for long wear.
Notes
Why this works
Creasing is mostly a friction and oil problem. Every blink pushes product into the same fold, and oil makes the pigment slide instead of staying evenly spread. The fix is to reduce slip before the color goes on.
Thin layers matter because the lid moves constantly. A heavy base gives the fold more product to collect, while a light primer and a small amount of powder leave less material to bunch up.
Substitutions
- eyeshadow primer→a thin layer of long-wear concealer set lightly with powder
- translucent powder→a skin-toned matte eyeshadow
