Fringe Separates Into Pieces
Fringe separates into pieces when oil, moisturizer, or styling product gathers at the roots. Cleaning the roots and using less product keeps bangs airy.
Part of hair beauty fixes and oily beauty fixes .

What you'll need
- dry shampoo
- round brush
- blow dryer
- lightweight hairspray
Why it happened
Bangs touch the forehead, sunscreen, moisturizer, and natural oil all day. That oil makes hair clump into separated pieces. Root lift and powder absorb the slip so the fringe falls more evenly.
The fix
- 1apply dry shampoo under the fringe at the roots
- 2brush through after it absorbs
- 3blow-dry the fringe side to side to lift roots
- 4mist light hairspray from a distance instead of using cream products
If it's still wrong
- Wash only the fringe in the sink if dry shampoo is not enough.
- Keep face moisturizer away from the hairline during the day.
Prevent next time
- Style bangs before applying heavy forehead skincare.
- Avoid touching or pushing fringe aside repeatedly.
Notes
Why this works
Fringe separation is usually oil plus contact. The hair is short, so a little oil can affect the whole shape.
Absorbing oil at the roots and resetting the direction gives the fringe more lift, which stops it from collapsing into strings.
Substitutions
- dry shampoo→translucent powder used very sparingly
- round brush→flat brush used while blow-drying side to side
