Heat Tools Made Ends Look White
Ends look white after heat tools when they are scorched, dry, or split. Smooth them temporarily, then trim the damaged tips before splits travel upward.

The fix
- smooth a small amount of leave-in conditioner through the ends
- seal with one drop of hair oil to reduce the white cast
- trim the most frayed tips with sharp scissors
If it’s still not right
- Schedule a dusting if many ends look pale or frayed.
- Stop flat-ironing the ends until they are trimmed.
Prevent it next time
- Use heat protectant every time.
- Lower the tool temperature and make fewer passes.
Notes
Why this works
Conditioner and oil reduce roughness so damaged ends reflect light more evenly. That improves the look temporarily.
Trimming is still the real fix for split ends because a split cannot be sealed permanently with product.
